Fermilab Art Gallery • The Fermilab Art Gallery’s main goal is to provide a place to view and understand art as a vehicle to further knowledge. • Recently, we partnered with Water Street Studios, Geneva Public Library and Sci. Imagining Physics: Art Inspired by Fermilab • Imagining Physics: Art inspired by Fermilab a workshop in collaboration with Water Street Studios in Batavia, IL. • We met once at Fermilab, then 4 times at Water Street Studios to discuss and create art. • Participants included 7 professional artists, 5 teachers and 16 students from: Batavia High School, Geneva High School, Marmion Academy and Burlington Central High School. 4 Georgia Schwender | Fermilab Art Gallery 5/28/15
Imagining Physics at Fermilab • On Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, we met at Fermilab to discuss the Big Ideas of physics. • Presenters were scientists Erik Ramberg, Brian Nord, Marty Murphy, Bonnie King; and artists Lindsay Olson and Michael Hoch. Additional Partnerships • 4/7/2015 - Geneva Public Library hosted a book discussion Temple Grandin: How the Girl Who Loved Cows Embraced Autism and Changed the World by Sy Montgomery. Tickets were raffled off to the sold-out lectures at Fermilab on May 13 and 14. • 11/1/14 – Ongoing in the atrium of Sci. Tech Hands On Museum in Aurora, 20 photographs by Fermilab Photographer Reidar Hahn, with text explaining the images, are on display. • 10/1/14 – Established the pilot Artist in Residence Program with Lindsay Olson to connect with the community and relate art and science. 10 Georgia Schwender | Fermilab Art Gallery 9/17/2020
