Federation Health WASH Wat. San/EH Developmental WASH: Where we are at present? • GWSI

Federation Health WASH Wat. San/EH Developmental WASH: Where we are at present? • GWSI Initial Target trebled since 2005 – over 15 M people reached (Water & Sanitation) and a further 6. 5 Million (HP). • IFRC and membership reach about 1. 5 million people annually and increasing. • New target to reach 2 million per year by 2020. Over 30 million by 2025. • Over 90% is rural WASH. • Over 75% is bilateral. (See GWSI Mapping Analysis for more data) www. ifrc. org Saving lives, changing minds.

Federation Health WASH Wat. San/EH Developmental WASH – Needs & Challenges: • Not enough

Federation Health WASH Wat. San/EH Developmental WASH – Needs & Challenges: • Not enough evidence base on impact and sustainability, over time. (such as ‘look back’ studies). • GWSI Mapping only captures limited and quantative data. Project reports, evaluations and lessons learned not pooled. • • • RM opportunities not consolidated/shared, IFRC & Members competing? Revised GWSI criteria & tools for alignment with SDG’s needed. Strategies/advocacy on Urban WASH and sanitation needs elaboration. WASH ‘harmonisation’ (CBHFA; DRR/CC)needs to move from ‘adhoc’ to standard practice. More internal/external partnership & minimum volume of multilateral programming needed to maintain Federation credibility. www. ifrc. org Saving lives, changing minds.
