Climate Change Senate • Chairwoman Boxer (D-CA) developing new EPW Committee cap and trade bill for release this fall; “less complex” than last year’s bill • Chairman Bingaman (D-NM) will continue to play a key role with the Energy Committee • Majority Leader Reid (D-NV) has indicated preference for combined legislation addressing climate, renewable electricity standard, and energy • Reid recently said consideration of climate legislation may not occur until early next year.
