Margaret Mary was a very kind and very humble person, becoming a nun at the age of 24. During her lifetime, she had many visions of Jesus and it was during one of these that Jesus showed Margaret Mary His Sacred Heart. His Heart was encircled by a crown of thorns, symbolising the great sacrifice he made for us out of love. Jesus told Margaret Mary : Through you, my divine heart wishes to spread its love everywhere on earth. Jesus made 12 promises to her telling her how he would help those who honour His Sacred Heart.

In 1686, devotion to the Sacred Heart first began, but the devotion wasn’t officially recognized until 1765 when it was approved by Pope Clement XIII, seventy-five years after Margaret Mary’s death. During this quiet time, we are asked to think about something we often take for granted- God’s immense love for us. Let us focus on the Sacred Heart of Jesus: Jesus who loved us, even to the point of dying for us. The heart is a symbol of love; it is what is deep inside us.

Take some time to read this from the prophet Hosea. Listen to what God says to us: “When my children were little, I taught them how to walk, I took them in my arms and loved them. My children are my pride and joy. I delight in them, with all the tender kindness of a loving father. ” The Word of the Lord You are a child of God. How does it make you feel to know how much He loves you?

This is a Gospel reading from the book of John My dear people, Since God has loved us so much, we too, should love one another. No one has ever seen God; But as long as we love one another God will live in us And his love will be complete in us…. God is love And everyone who lives in love lives in God, And God lives in him. In this Gospel reading, we are told again how much God loves us. It explains that to show God’s love, we must love one another. How can we show God’s love to those around us?

Now take time to quietly say these prayers. Looking at the world around us, We see the flowers, trees and animals, The mountains and the seas. God made all of this because he loves us.
