FEAP 1 • 1. A. • Aligns instruction with state‐adopted standards at the appropriate level of rigor. • For this Feap goal, I often look at my lesson plans and standards that I work with. When conducting lesson plans, the first thing I look at is what standard am I aiming for when I teach a lesson? How does my objective relate to the standard? Lesson plans are great artifacts to look at when considering aligning your instruction with the state standard. Another artifact is the cpalms. org website. It has the Florida State standards there along with lesson plans and activities. One of our most important websites when working on lesson plans in Florida.

FEAP 1. B • Sequences lessons and concepts to ensure coherence and required prior knowledge • One of my favorite lessons/activities that I have done was my connective lesson plan last semester. Now in our final internship, we are doing connective lessons every day. We are ensuring that our students are grabbing all the information they learn today and translate it into the lesson for tomorrow. Connective lesson plans are a great way to see how multiple days of lessons can tap into prior knowledge of the day before’s lesson and how it relates to “today’s lesson.

FEAP 1. C • Designs instruction for students to achieve mastery; • Achieving mastery can be done in many ways. It can simply be done by using an exit ticket, or it can be used in formative lessons that set up a bigger end project. In this case, one of the most recent designated instructions for mastery was the LDC assignments/lessons. The end of lesson written responses were a great way to show students achieving mastery in order to get ready for a bigger assignment (LDC final)

FEAP 1. D • Selects appropriate formative assessments to monitor learning I relate this one again to the LDC. We had several formative assessments throughout the two weeks of the LDC. These formative assessments were vital in the students learning throughout the unit and to get prepared to write their final product. These written responses were available to the students to use when writing their final piece.

FEAP 1. E • Uses a variety of data, independently, and in collaboration with colleagues, to evaluate learning outcomes, adjust planning and continuously improve the effectiveness of the lessons This past week I was able to participate in a vertical meeting. A vertical meeting is where for example… 4 th grade teachers meet with both 3 rd grade and 5 th grade teachers in order to talk about strengths and weaknesses when students are moving up to the next grade. My 5 th grade team had a meeting with 4 th grade to discuss what students are excelling at and what they might need more exposure to when in 4 th grade to better prepare themselves for 5 th grade.
