Alexandru Pesamosca “THE TITAN OF ROMANIAN PEDIATRY”

Alexandru Pesamosca 14 March 1930– 1 September 2011 Alexandru Pesamosca was a Romanian surgeon and pediatrician, medic at the Marie Sklodovska. Curie Hospital in Bucharest, Romania. He was the leading surgeon of over 45, 000 medical operations on children.

HIS LIFE Alexandru Pesamosca was born on 14 th March 1930 at Constanta , into a small family with Italian origins. He learned at the primary Italian school in Constanta. When he was a kid , he wished to be a sailor like his father , but he decided to be a doctor. In 1954 he graduated from the University of Medicine in Bucharest.

In 1957, he started to work as a surgeon at “Grigore Alexandrescu” Children's Hospital and he became the head of the clinic. He worked very hard without ever considering a leave.

He believed in him and in God. In 1984 , Alexandru Pesamosca was transferred to Marie Curie Hospital. He also became the head of the surgery clinic and pediatric orthopedics.

Till 2000 he managed to save over 45. 000 people , mostly children. His patients were from Romania and from countries such as: China , France, Italy.

FAMILY LIFE We don’t know much about his family. He had a wife and two children. He lost his wife in 1999 and both his children died because they had cancer. After their tragic death, he moved in a small hospital room.
