Matthew 12: 46 -49 (NIV) 46 While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, His mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to Him. 47 Someone told Him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you. ” 48 He replied to him, “Who is My mother, and who are My brothers? ” 49 Pointing to His disciples, He said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. 2

Matthew 10: 1 -7 (NIV) 1 Jesus called his twelve disciples to Him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. 2 These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; 3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; 4

4 Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Him. 5 These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6 Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. 7 As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near. ’ 5

For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. 11 [For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost. ] 12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 7

13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish. 8
