FAIRTRADE-What is Fairtrade? Fairtrade is the Trade between companies in developing countries and producers in developing countries in which fair prices are paid to the producers or makers. This means that people working on farms to produce; Coffee, Tea, Chocolate, Sugar, Flowers etc are paid properly and fairly for the work they do and the crops they produce. This therefor means they can afford the basic things that we take for granted for example; environmental and social standards such as, clean water, health care and medicine, education for their children and food to feed their families. This year between 22 nd February and 8 th March is Fairtrade fortnight and during this time people all around the world will be made more aware of and learn about the benefits of Fairtrade and what it means to the farmers, the climate and how we can all help support others to have equal rights and how we here in the UK can play a small part in this.
