Have you been injured at work? unifor. org
Workplace Injury & Death In 2015*, 8, 155 young workers aged fifteen to nineteen received compensation for missing work due to serious workplace accidents or work-related disease. Most common injuries include back injuries, sprains, cuts, punctures, bruises, fractures, burns, scalds and joint inflammation. This number only includes what is reported and accepted by compensation boards, so there’s no doubt this represents a fraction of the number of workplace accidents involving teens. That same year, fifteen young people (aged 15 -24) were killed on the job in Canada. Each worker death impacts the loved ones, families, friends and coworkers they leave behind, changing all of their lives forever. * Most recent stats available from the Association of Workers' Compensation Boards of Canada (AWCBC) Presentation Title unifor. org Section Title l 12
