What is an opinion? �An opinion is a belief or judgment about something. �Example: �Florida is the worst place to take a vacation. �Common opinion words: �Love �Best �Greatest �“I think…” �“I believe…”

What is a fact? �A fact is a statement that can be proven. �Example: �The address for ATES is 870 Rosemark Road. �It can be proven either true OR false. �Example of a false fact: �Each tile on this classroom floor is two feet long. �Common fact words: �“As a matter of fact…” �“In fact…”

Redwood National Park is a great place to visit where you can see some very tall trees. Some of the trees stand hundreds of feet tall. Besides being tall, the trees can also be very old. In fact, redwood trees can live for 2, 000 years. I think it is very impressive that these old, great trees grow from tiny seeds.
