Facebook Project – Eric Carle Facebook can help you connect and share history of people’s lives. You can complete one or more of the following pages on a historical figure. • • All about Me Museum: This could be use by students to document their lives and likes. • • Insert the historical figures picture and name on each page you select to complete. INFO - Fill out as if you were that historical person. FRIENDS – Type in the name of the people who would have been involved with the historical figure. Put a picture or symbols for each friend. This could include people who were not their friends. WALL - This should be a time line of some important event. Pick one or more of the historical figures friend to set the time. It can be in years. Great place to use people who did not agree with them. PHOTOS –Use different pictures that illustrates aspects of their lives – family, important sites, etc. NOTES – Copy of a speech or short explanation of something that was important in their lives. > Info Eric Carle Birthday: June, 25 1929 (10) I am: Male Education: 1 Hometown: Work: Graduated from the prestious art school: Akademie der bildenden Künste, in Stuttgart, Germany (2) Syracuse, New York (2) Once I moved back to New York in 1952 I began working as graphic designer in the promotion department of The New York Times. Then I became the art director of an advertising agency for many years. He was asked by Bill Martin Jr. to illustrate Brown Bear, What Do You See? , which launched his career in children’s literature. (2) Interested in: Nature, The Beach, & My Family (2) Philosophy: I feel it is important to have a true understanding for the respect of children. I want to teach children about nature and the world around them through literature and illustrations. (2) Places I have traveled : I moved from Syracuse when I was 6 years old to Germany with my parents. I stayed there until 1952 when I moved back to New York after graduating from Akademie der bildenden Künste, in Stuttgart. (2) Other : I believe it is important to bridge the gap between home and schools. I try to take away the fear of the unknown and replace it with a positive message. (2)

(8) The Caterpillar has become one of my greatest friends and let me tell you he really does love to eat. The book helps children learn about the life of a caterpillar. If you haven’t read it, you should. I promise you will fall in love with the caterpillar just as I did. (9)
