Why take the EPQ? • Facilitates competitive UCAS applications • Increases likelihood of achieving A*-B in your other A 2 s by a third • Provides a rich flavour of academic enquiry
What topic? • Any topic, provided that: • 1. It is amenable to a research-informed response. • 2. It doesn’t repeat anything you are studying in your other A 2 s. • 3. It is deemed acceptable e. g. it is ethical
What do I produce? • A 5, 000 word essay • A 5, 000 word report on an empirical study you’ve conducted • An artefact of some kind, based on research-informed methods • The quality of your product is worth approx. 40% of the final mark
