Expressive lines are: a y e v n o c t a h t Lines n o i t o m e r o g n i l e fe Lines can express different moods based on their thickness or thinness, fluidity or rigidness and lightness or darkness. Artists often take line styles into account when trying to depict different emotions or ideas. Thick, dark and rigid lines can be foreboding and express a heavy feeling. Fluid, thin lines would convey a delicate and intimate feeling.

STEP 1: • Choose your favorite song on your i. Pod/media player • Take a piece of blank drawing paper (size 6 x 9) from the front of the room. • In pencil, draw the title of your song creatively on the page. You may crop the title and use any font you desire. Make sure you draw these letters large and hollow so that you may color them in later.

ST : 2 • P E Start drawing (with expressive lines) on the areas surrounding the drawing you previously completed of the song title. • Use only expressive line. You may not draw any objects or symbols i. e. - stars, hearts, etc. should not be included. • Your design should be made completely using LINE! • Create a variety: thick, thin, squiggly, straight, zigzag, curved, etc.

ST : 3 EP • The final step is to color your design. • Color the title of your song in BLACK last. This will prevent it from smudging while you are busy in the other areas of your drawing. • There should be very limited or no white showing when you have completed your expressive line drawing. • Your page should be filled with color.
