Your Next Project • You will be creating a relief sculpture (3 D in front, but flat on the back) • You will be choosing an EXPRESSION to convey through your artwork.

Criteria • Must incorporate an identifiable expression. • Exaggerate the expression on the face.

Criteria • Must incorporate an identifiable expression. • Exaggerate the expression on the face. • You may choose to do a face of a human or animal • Features must be 3 D (not painted on) • Must have a creative surface texture (textured paint, patterned paper, newspaper, found objects)

First Step • Choose an expression and draw out, model, and or photograph 3

First Step • Choose an expression and draw out, model, and or photograph 3 possible designs and plan how you will construct each one. • Show Mrs. Miller and pick one design.

Second Step • Start constructing the base with newspaper and tape.

Third Step • Cover your base with plaster strips to smooth out and connect

Fourth Step • With the plaster strips, add the facial features, remember to exaggerate
