IMPORTANCE OF NATURAL RESOURCES Air, water, vegetation and mines constitute the naturel resources. Natural resources re too important for human and public. To becoming less of natural resources restrict living beings’ habitats.

There are some projects about efficient use of natural resources in Turkey.

Projects about water: � Turkey is not rich in water. When we look at the amount of water person per year, it is possible to see that Turkey is experiencing water scarcity. According to data of the State Water Supply Administration, in 2003, only 36% of available water potential in the industrial sector could be used.

Hydroelectric Power Plant in Sakarya

� Electricity is produced with hydroelectric power plants. Turkey is able to assess 20% of the water potential in this area. � The State Water Supply Administration, produces projects to use the water resources effectively. The purpose of this projects is to evaluate the full potential of water by 2030.

Projects about petrol: � Turkey Petroleum Incorporated Company (TPAO) is tasked with petroleum exploration and production in Turkey. TPAO has accelerated oil exploration business in recent years with new technologies. Especially in the last two years the number of studies performed in the sea is more than the sum of the last 50 years.

USING OF NATURAL RESOURCES Animals and plants need oxygen, and they take it from the air. Pollution of air is descending to the earth with rain water to the rivers, groundwater and soil living beings who lives in there adversely affected. This cause reduction and extinction of species.

Air pollution is a factor threatening human health, and measures must be taken. In Turkey, the most air pollution is in Marmara Region.

EXPLOITATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES Water is essential for living. The ¾ of the surface is water. People use water in many areas. Also many species live in water. Wasted materials which people had left to the water resources for years cause of some species reduction and some of them extinction.

Industrial development also affects the consumption of water resources. However, there is a need in the industry in the development of the organization. Attention point is being used water sparingly and without pollution of water.

With the population growth is increasing consumption of resources refers to the time point of exhaustion.

Soil release harmful waste causes soil to lose its properties over time. Soil which loses its productivity , becomes can not feed on living conditions.

Mines are also a result of unconsciously consumed by humans is decreasing every day. From mines; in industry , energy producting and utilized in other areas. According to researchings, oil , coal and natural gas will run out in a short time if no new resources.
