Exodus 3 13 Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you, ’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name? ’ Then what shall I tell them? ” 14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you. ’” 15 God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob – has sent me to you. ’ This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.

Exodus 5 2 Pharaoh said, “Who is the LORD, that I should obey him and let Israel go? I do not know the LORD and I will not let Israel go. ” 4 So Exodus 11 Moses said, “This is what the LORD says: ‘About midnight I will go throughout Egypt. 5 Every firstborn son in Egypt will die, from the firstborn son of Pharaoh, who sits on the throne, to the firstborn son of the female slave, who is at her hand mill, and all the firstborn of the cattle as well. 6 There will be loud wailing throughout Egypt—worse than there has ever been or ever will be again. 7 But among the Israelites not a dog will bark at any person or animal. ’ Then you will know that the LORD makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.
