exhausting fan (not reversible) ladder in intake vent shaft extends from surface all the way to the lower level Airflow is down the intake vent shaft to the upper level, then continuing down to the lower level. An airdoor on the upper level prevents air from the intake vent shaft from actually traveling out onto the upper level. Once on the lower level, air is coursed through the workings, and then directed up to the upper level via the ramp. Once on the upper level air is coursed through the workings, and then directed up the upcast shaft. The main fan is located at the bottom of the upcast shaft.
