Aims • Provide up-to-date GCSE exam information. • Outline of what the maths department can do to support students. – Revision pack – Enrichment sessions • Outline of what students can do to improve their chances of success.
Mock tests • Used to assess what grade student are currently working at. • Year 10 – Wednesday 5 th March and Friday 7 th March • Year 11 – Friday 7 th March and Monday 10 th March • We will use this data to plan future revision in lessons and intervene with students. • Students have received past papers to practice at home. • Celebration and results day – Year 10 – Thursday 10 th April – Year 11 – Friday 11 th April
End of year exam • Year 10 – Internal exam – Date to be confirmed. • Year 11 – Monday 9 th June – Non Calculator - Friday 13 th June - Calculator
Revision Pack • Each student receives a revision pack which is personalised to the exam they are taking. • Each pack contains: – Revision timetable. – Work book. – Revision guide. – Mathswatch CD. (Collected in at the end of the year)

Using the revision pack – Revision Guide • Written by the examiners • Contains key information and worked examples on each topic. • Specific to the exam students will be taking at the end of the year.
Using the revision pack – Work book • The relevant pages from the timetable should be completed each day. • The revision guide can be used to revise a topic before answering. • Answers are in the back.

How can students improve their chances of success? • Our experience shows that students who utilise the revision pack are more successful in the exam. • Homework- completing all homework. Practising the skills taught in lesson will help students remember it in the exam. • Attendance –regular attendance to school and maths lessons will increase the chances of your child’s success.
