Currency • How recent is the information? • Can you identify the date created? • Has the website been updated recently? How can you tell? • Is there a copyright date listed? • Is there any "link rot"? • Is the source current enough for your topic?

Reliability • What kind of information is included in the resource? • Is it a primary source? secondary? • Is the content primarily opinion? Is it balances? • Does the creator provide references or sources for data? quotations? • Does the site acknowledge other links?

Authority • Who is the author, publisher, sponsor or creator? Can you identify them? • Is the author a professional in their field? • Can you contact the author? • What are their credentials? Are they reputable? • What are the publishers interests in the information? • Does the source belong to an individual? organization? academic institution? other group?

Purpose/Point of View • Is the site primarily fact or opinion? • Are the goals clearly stated? • Are all sides of the issue fairly presented? • Is the sources trying to sell you something? • What is the websites extension?
