Instead of Alligator clips I used some circuit wires to try and neaten up my wiring. I made the parallel resistor loop in the middle and then did an extended wire on my LED Bulb. I wish I could test how long the wires can be and still have the bulb light up.

This set up would turn on a light in our back den which is not within light of sight of the kitchen. The light would turn on to indicate someone is sneaking snacks. My testing criteria was that the door could open and close four times with different levels of force to close the door. In my video you can see: Open door light on close door light off. Open door light on close door harder light off. Open door light on Slam door light off. I set up the program so, when the touch sensor is pushed my light goes off, when the touch sensor is released the light goes on.

After wiring last week , this was much easier to wire than last weeks

After wiring last week , this was much easier to wire than last weeks activity. Once the wiring was set up I made a simple program to just turn on the motor without the new wiring. Once my program did everything I wanted I then added the new wiring circuit with the LED. For an activity this work great, but in a more real life situation I would use Arduino , which is much cheaper than an EV 3. I think to use Arduino , there would need to be a course just to learn to use and program before students could use it effectively for activities. This is why the EV 3 works so much better for class activities. Testing worked well and my device stayed together during testing and met my simple criteria.
