Marc Pauwels

EUROPLASMA NV De Bruwaan 5 d, 9700 Oudenaarde (Belgium) tel. : +32 (0)55 -30. 32. 05 fax: +32 (0)55 -31. 87. 53 NEW DEVELOPMENTS FOR AIRCRAFT INDUSTRY: AIRCRAFT WINDOWS • Polymerization of multifunctional barrier coating with plasma technology • Fire retardant properties and anti-crazing properties • Development of scratch resistant multifunctional barrier Plasma treatment Why it can be used: • The multifunctional barrier should increase the burn-through time (longer time for evacuation) • The multifunctional barrier should also increase the crazing resistance due to some influences as temperature, UV-radiation, humidity, … • The coating will also increase the hours of flying: less maintenance is needed 12 -13 July 2004 FAA Materials Meeting (Zürich) Ing. Marc Pauwels
