COGEN Europe’s recommendations Ensure an optimised mix of cost-effective low carbon, decentralised energy, energy efficiency and large scale infrastructure solutions. This will: • Minimise need for costly additional infrastructure • Mitigate increasing energy bills for all energy consumers • Unlock flexibility potential across all energy carriers & networks • Fully leverage heat storage benefits (e. g. for longer term excess electricity storage and flexibility) • Ensure the security of energy supply (heat & electricity) cogeneurope. eu 6
