Coronavirus • Coronavirus circulate among animals and some of them may infect humans. • Sources: bats, camels, civet cats • Transmission occurs: ØHuman to Human; ØOne human may infect 2 or more humans; ØTransmitted via respiratory droplets (sneezing, coughing, exhaling); ØIncubation period between 2 – 14 days; ØFlulike symptoms (fever, cough, muscle pain, tiredness, difficulty breathing).

Coronavirus - Prevention • Virus enters body via eyes, nose, mouth – therefore avoid touching your face. • Wash hands for at least 20 seconds or sanitize with alcoholbased solutions. • Keep a distance of at least 6 feet. Sneezing may spread the virus across 13 meters. • If you have flue-like symptoms, immediately visit your health care practitioner. • Should you be diagnosed with the virus, inform people that you have been in contact with. Quarantine yourself. • Wear a face mask only if you are infected.

Coronavirus – using public spaces • Clean and disinfect doorknobs, switches, handles, computers, telephones, bedside tables, bathroom sinks, toilets, counters, toys and other surfaces that are commonly touched around the home or workplace. • To the extent possible, avoid touching commonly used surfaces in public places like elevator buttons, door handles and handrails and avoid handshaking with people.
