Scenario The ship is sinking and the seas are rough. All but one lifeboat has been destroyed. The lifeboat holds a maximum of six people. There are ten people that want to board the boat. The four individuals who do not board the boat will certainly die. Writing prompt-Red Notebook Activity ‘A Moral Dilemma’ You are at Mc. Donald’s and you pay for your $9 hamburger with a $10 note. The cashier accidentally gives you $41 change. What do you do? Write this as a fully developed scene describing what you are thinking, and why you made the decision that you did. Use your internal dialogue. Things to think about: who did you go with? Does this influence your decision? Does the way the cashier behave toward you influence you? Where do you get your sense of right and wrong? Does it matter what the shop is i. e. large corporation or small business?
