Ethernet over E 1(FE 1) Product Overview Ø Ethernet over E 1 Converter provides the user a facility to transport Ethernet (multiple LANs) over an E 1 link. Ø Very Compact and Low cost. Ethernet over E 1(FE 1) Features and Highlights Ø The maximum transmission rate of Ethernet data over E 1 links is 2. 048 Mbit/s Ø Supporting 1600 frames, accordance with Interior Switching Link (ISL) Protocol Ø Supports unframed, framed and multi framed E 1 transmission mode Ø Supporting local E 1 port loop-back Ø The Ethernet Port is self-adaptive to crossover or shoot-through (Straight / Parallel) cable to avoid the trouble of re-wiring Ø Ethernet negotiation function. Supports 10 M/100 M and working modes of both full-duplex and semi-duplex Ø Transparently transmits ultra-long frames stipulated in IEEE 802. 1 Q, and supports Ethernet switches with VLAN function. Ethernet over E 1(FE 1) Applications Ø This equipment may be used for the following purposes: ü Bridging Ethernet LANs over existing TDM (E 1) telecom network ü Extending Ethernet Networks utilizing TDM (E 1) landline based telecom infrastructure ü Using telecom network of E 1 s / PDH / SDH Microwave etc. ü Carrying E 1 s to transport Ethernet data Ø In all these cases the equipment be always installed and used in pairs, with one terminal being installed at either end (each side) of the network.
