Significant Safety Achievements- 11/19 • Provided support for a planned lab-wide power outage that was canceled. This includes preparing ETA lab areas with e-power for the outage. If anything, we had further practice! • Performed an old chemical disposal project for time sensitive chemicals removed from the 70 -291 glove box. This included the required testing. • Performed an old chemical disposal project for chemicals stored in the 70 -274 hood cabinet. This included neutralization of several nitric acid containing chemicals. • An annual time-sensitive chemical check-up survey was sent out to all ETA lab areas. This is a means of ensuring all items listed in the inventory are properly identified and tested. • I participated in the City of Berkeley hazardous waste inspection that took place in Building 62. • A lot of work completed by the ETA ergo advocates getting home telecommute ergo evaluations completed. More are pending submittal of required photos. • I provided assistance during the B 60 blower motor electrical short incident.

Short Term Safety Outlook 12/19 • Assist with resolution of the on-going Astrileux chemical storage issue at Potter. • Continue work on power outage planning for the lab areas. • Complete the remaining telecommute home ergonomics evaluations. They keep coming! • We are participating in the new Chemical Stewardship Self. Assessment group consisting of multiple LBNL Areas. Data collection will begin soon. • Start planning for the ESDR Safety Stand Down event for March 2020. • Finalize the annual time sensitive chemical survey results.
