Significant Safety Achievements- 8/16 • • All Level 3 Work Activities due for annual EHS review have been completed and are now “active”. A number of Level 2 Work Activities were also updated and improved based on lessons learned. The Building 70 hallway cabinet clean-out self-assessment project has been completed. A draft report has been prepared and is now ready for review. Efforts continue closing out “conditionally approved” and “failed” electrical equipment. No items are listed as “failed” and only 3 remain on the “conditionally accepted” list. Assisted in the electrical inspection of the glove box in 62 -312. A few minor items were corrected and the equipment passed. The Cyclotron Road lab area at Potter St. Lab received electrical equipment surveys/inspections. Many items passed and one item was conditionally accepted. Performed an old chemical clean-out of 62 -314. ETA Safety Alerts were issued for: – Broken Glass Disposal Boxes – Glassware Cleaning Precautions • The ETA members of the Community Emergency Preparedness Team (CERT) participated in the annual lab-wide emergency drill conducted on 8/24/16.

Short Term Safety Outlook 9/16 • • Finalize and submit the Building 70 hallway

Short Term Safety Outlook 9/16 • • Finalize and submit the Building 70 hallway cabinet clean-out self assessment report. Develop the 2017 self-assessment project plan and submit. Two Level 3 Work Activities are due for renewal including EHS collaboration. Complete development and deploy ETA awareness training for: – Activity Leads – Lab Safety Leads – New Hire Safety Orientation • • • Continue to address all remaining ETA equipment on the electrical equipment “conditionally authorized” and “failed” lists. Survey and inspect electrical equipment remaining in the B 70 hallway cabinets. A CATS will be issued to track any needed repairs, etc. I will be giving two safety presentations to County of Santa Clara employees on 9/6/16.
