REMAINING QUESTIONS B. POTTIN, A-C. CHAUVEAU | PAGE 17
TUNNEL DELIVERY AND ASSEMBLY • Continuous work with ESS (thank you for good quality exchange with Walter, Georg, Nick…. . ) • This exchange is necessary because there are continuous changes (good or not. ) • It’s not an option to implement the assembly process on the building because we need to see the interfaces, tunnel insertion, space aorund RFQ …. • Simulation @ Saclay to validate strategy and tools Minimize the assembly time inside the tunnel • Implantation @ Saclay o o RFQ support tools manutention bead pull • Truck transport B. POTTIN, A-C. CHAUVEAU | PAGE 18
TUNNEL DELIVERY AND ASSEMBLY B. POTTIN, A-C. CHAUVEAU | PAGE 19
COOLING SYSTEM • Cooling pipes implantation • Possible changes from ESS: to decrease the distance between skid and RFQ not easy, and final decision must be done What is possible inside the tunnel ? • Study by CEA specialist on going B. POTTIN, A-C. CHAUVEAU | PAGE 20
LEBT AND MEBT INTERFACES EXAMPLE Input plate Input and ouput plate design finished. Next step will be reviewing by ESS for validation Output plate B. POTTIN, A-C. CHAUVEAU | PAGE 21
OPEN DISCUSSIONS • Conditionning procedure and command control : • RFQ Security (Power limitless, temperature acquisition, vacuum level to stop RFQ conditionning…) • LLRF strategy : who? How? When? • We have pick up on the RFQ, we need to speak with ESS what we want ESS must do with pick up information • C&C • We need those systems OK to start conditionning !!!!! • Not only assembly process: • transport from CEA • Delivery • storage before tunnel insertion • storage inside the tunnel • manutention space inside the tunnel • tools…. . • I think we need to find time to have small private meetings during these two days to be efficient (for example RF for RFQ) B.
