ESOL English to Speakers of Other Languages It is a state-funded program for English Language Learners of other Languages.
How Potential Candidates Are Identified for ESOL ~ Complete Home Language Survey at registration What language does your child best understand speak? What language does your child most frequently speak at home? What language do adults in your home most frequently use when speaking with your child? ~ If the answer to any of the above questions indicates a language other than English, the WIDA Screener is administered. (Grades K – 5)
ESOL Program • Provides quality instruction to ELs in grades K-5 • Supports English Learners (ELs) in reading, language arts, writing, math, science, and/or social studies in the classroom • Collaborates and plans with general education teachers • Analyzes various student achievement data

ACCESS For ELs • English Proficiency Test • Administered to students in Kindergarten through 5 th grade (K – 5)

HELPING YOUR CHILD WITH VIRTUAL LEARNING Check your child’s assignments every day Set a consistent time and place to work Provide good workspace away from distractions Provide adequate supplies and learning resources Help your child organize his/her materials and supplies Communicate with your child’s teacher(s) regularly
