Cabinet reshuffling after general election saw mergers of two important ministries associated with High Performance Computing and MYREN namely MOSTI and MOHE MOSTI merged to become Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology, Energy and Climate Change (MESTECC) MOHE (Ministry of Higher Education) was merged with Ministry of Education to become Ministry of Education Generally across all ministries there is budget cut and infrastructure development received the lowest priority Efforts continues despite the current situation with REENGAGEMENT of ministry officials and also MESTECC Minister

ASEAN High Performance Computing Task Force was initiated by Singapore and Thailand under ASEAN Committee on Science and Technology under MESTECC The 1 ST ASEAN High Performance Computing (HPC) Meeting Task. Force– 1 was held on 6 - 7 September, 2018 in Singapore The 2 nd ASEAN HPC TF-2 was held also in Singapore on 13 -14 March, 2019 followed by First EU-ASEAN HPC Coordination Group Meeting, 14 -15 March 2019, Singapore Under Enhanced Regional EU-ASEAN Dialogue Instrument (E-READI) Program led by Kostas Glinos, Head of Unit, EU DG RTD Study visit to Japan (Tokyo and Kobe), 15 -17 April, 2019
