Where is Spain? Spain is located in the southwest of Europe, and borders Portugal & France.
The highest mountains in Spain are… …El Teide on Tenerife (a Canary Island). …El Mulhacén on the mainland.
Autonomous Communities: Spain is divided in 17 regions.
What languages do we speak? In Spain, we have four official languages. Spanish is spoken in all regions. In our region, we also speak Catalan.
The Royal Family In 2014, Spain welcomed a new King and Queen, Felipe VI and Doña Letizia. They have two daughters, Leonor and Isabel.
Spain's President The President of Spain is Mariano Rajoy. He was elected on December 21 st, 2011, and re-elected on October 29 th, 2016. In the picture, you can see the Spanish and the European flags.
Our island, Mallorca is the biggest of the Balearic Islands. Palma is the capital city of our region.

Our capital, Palma La Seu Cathedral Palma is the biggest city of the Balearic Islands, with a population of 403, 000. The two most famous landmarks of Palma are La Seu Cathedral and Bellver Castle
Tramuntana Mountain Range: a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Our town, Sóller is nestled in a beautiful valley of the Tramuntana Mountain Range, located in the Northwest of the island. The highest mountain is called “Puig Major”.
Our town is Sóller: Saint Bartholomeo church is situated in the main square of the town. It is also our Patron Saint.
Our port: Port de Sóller We have a port in our town. It's 4 kilometers away from the city centre. Because of this port, a lot of fresh fish arrives in our town every day.
Terraces In Mallorca, we have terraces like you see in the picture. Because of these terraces, we can grow our local products in the Tramuntana Mountain Range.
Local Products Our local products are oranges, lemons, olives, almonds, and carobs. Oranges Lemons

Our traditional pastry is the “ensaïmada”.
National Parks of the Balearic Islands
National Parks In the Balearic Islands, we have many national parks. On Mallorca, we have one big national park. It's situated in the Northeast of the island. It's called S'Albufera.
Sa Dragonera Another national park of the Balearic Islands is Sa Dragonera. It's an island, situated west of Mallorca. In Sa Dragonera, you will find lizards, birds, and lots of fish!
Cabrera Archipelago National Park The biggest is Cabrera National Park. It's huge! It has many different islands. The islands are protected for the animals, so nobody is allowed to live there.
