Erasmus+ Current program expires at the end of 2020, with new Erasmus+ phase coming into effect for 2021 -2027 In May 2018, the European Commission has proposed to double the Erasmus budget to € 30 billion for 20212027. This will makeit possible for up to 12 million people to have an experience abroad, with a particular focus on reaching out to people with social, economic, physical or geographic disadvantages. Erasmus+ This year's call, and the following years of the program, will offer additional opportunities to support exchanges for African students and staff to participate in Erasmus+. While 26, 247 African students have already participated in Erasmus+, the aim is to support 35, 000 people by 2020, while increasing this number by additional 70, 000 students and researchers from Africa by 2027. General Criteria • first higher education degree or equivalent • must not have received an Erasmus Mundus Master Course, Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree scholarship and/or Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate fellowship
