Interview Basics ❖ Occur October thru January ➢ timing is specialty-specific - talk to CGA, see MS 4 Student Guide ❖ Some specialties/programs start offering interviews in September ➢ others not until MSPE received in October (ex: Derm, ENT) ❖ Programs make more offers than spots, so will need to check phone and email regularly in Sep/ Oct ➢ Consider setting up email alerts, notify team members on rotation ➢ If you do not have enough interviews by Halloween then we will reach out to you and advise you on whether your should call, add programs, or apply to another specialty like family medicine or prelim surgery 35 5/8/18 Sep-Oct

Last Thing: * * Learning Environment/Mistreatment Survey At this point early in your individualization phase, we are asking you to reflect on the clinical experiences of your Application phase. We want to you to tell us about the clinical environment. It is essential we monitor the learning environment and student safety issues to ensure all students are receiving a quality education while being treated respectfully as learners – as a part of the health care team. This is also an important accreditation issue. Your feedback tells us how well we are doing. We are seeking both positive and negative reports about your experiences. If we are not doing well, we need to know that, so we can fix it. But we can only make improvements where we know they are needed, that is why your responses to this questionnaire are so important. High response rates yield credible data that will receive due attention of the administration and faculty; to have confidence in the feedback we receive, we need everyone to complete this questionnaire. We always respect your confidentiality and will always report results in aggregate. We realize this can be a sensitive topic and will only pursue follow up with your permission.
