Ø You will have 9 hours of lesson time per subject, per fortnight. You will also have independent study periods for which you register in the Learning Resource Centre and free study periods, which you can complete in the common room or at home. Epsom & Ewell High School 3. How you can prepare this summer All of our current year 11 students are on "Next Steps" groups on TEAMS with the heads of department of our sixth form subjects. In addition to the transition work being given by this platform, we have produced some getting ahead work for all prospective sixth form students to complete over the summer break. You will find this transition work on the post-16 Next Steps tab on the sixth form section of the website. Please do download the document and find specific subjects of interest. As you may be aware, we offer the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) in year 12. This is a piece of independent work, designed to demonstrate independent thought. The EPQ also counts towards UCAS points for entry to university, should that be something you were interested in pursuing in the future. We have published an information letter on the Letters Home section of the main website about the EPQ for your reference.

Expectations in Sixth Form life is different to the lower school; you have a lot more freedom, you build powerful relationships with your teachers but you are also expected to work independently. Therefore, we expect all students in the sixth form to take ownership of their learning. To find out more about how to be successful in the Sixth Form, check out our Road Map to Success on the Updates section of the Sixth Form page of the website. We also allow students to the freedom to wear their own clothes in the sixth form. Our dress code is smart casual and please refer to the Updates section of the Sixth Form page of the website for full details.
