EPIPHANY Week 3 SATURDAY MORNING PRAYER Together: Growing, Caring, Sharing in God’s Love

Your light springs up for the righteous, All and all the peoples have seen your glory.

O Lord, open our lips, All and our mouth shall proclaim your praise.

Blessed are you, Sovereign God, king of the nations: All to you be praise and glory for ever.

From the rising of the sun to its setting: All your Name is proclaimed in all the world.

As the Sun of Righteousness dawns in our hearts, All anoint our lips with the seal of your Spirit.

That we may be witness to your Gospel, All and sing your praise in all the earth.

Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit: All Blessed be God for ever!

The night has passed, and the day lies open before us; let us pray with one heart and mind.

All As we rejoice in the gift of this new day, so may the light of your presence, O God, set our hearts on fire with love for you; now and for ever. Amen.

Give thanks to the LORD, because he is good; his love is eternal. 2 Give thanks to the greatest of all gods; his love is eternal.

Give thanks to the mightiest of all lords; his love is eternal. 4 He alone performs great miracles; his love is eternal. 3

5 By his wisdom he made the heavens; his love is eternal; 6 he built the earth on the deep waters; his love is eternal.

7 He made the sun and the moon; his love is eternal; 8 the sun to rule over the day; his love is eternal

the moon and the stars to rule over the night; his love is eternal 10 He killed the first-born sons of the Egyptians; his love is eternal. 9

11 He led the people of Israel out of Egypt; his love is eternal; 12 with his strong hand, his powerful arm; his love is eternal.

Glory to the Father, by the Son, in the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen. Or: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen.

Remember us, O God, and shape our history, form our inward eyes to see the shadow of the life-giving cross in the turbulence of our time; for his sake who died for all, Christ our Lord. Amen.

30 “Anyone who is not with me is against me. Anyone who does not gather sheep with me scatters them. 31 So here is what I tell you. Every kind of sin and every evil word spoken against God will be forgiven. But speaking evil things against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven. But anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. A person like that won’t be forgiven either now or in days to come. (Matthew 12. 30 -32; NIr. V)

O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness, All let the whole earth tremble before him. Tell it out among the nations that the Lord is King, All tell out his salvation from day to day and his wonders among all peoples. All Almighty God, who alone can bring order to the unruly wills and passions of our humanity: give us grace so to love what you command desire what you promise, that among the changes of this world, our hearts may be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER Believing in the promises of God, let us pray with confidence as our Saviour taught us:
