SONG ‘You who fear the Lord’
Blessed are you, Sovereign God, our light and our salvation: All to you be praise and glory for ever.
You gave your Christ as a light to the nations, All and through the anointing of the Spirit, you established us as a royal priesthood.
As you call us into your marvellous light, All may our lives bear witness to your truth and our lips never cease to proclaim your praise.
Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit: All Blessed be God for ever!
That this evening may be holy, good and peaceful, let us pray with one heart and mind.
All As our evening prayer rises before you, O God, so may your mercy come down upon us, to cleanse our hearts and set us free to sing your praise, now and for ever. Amen.
GOD’S MYSTERY revealed in Christ
PSALM Psalm 8 (Good News Translation)
O LORD, our Lord, your greatness is seen in all the world! Your praise reaches up to the heavens; 2 it is sung by children and babies.
You are safe and secure from all your enemies; you stop anyone who opposes you.
3 When I look at the sky, which you have made, at the moon and the stars, which you set in their places— 4 what are human beings, that you think of them; mere mortals, that you care for them?
5 Yet you made them inferior only to yourself; you crowned them with glory and honour. 6 You appointed them rulers over everything you made.
You placed them over all creation: 7 sheep and cattle, and the wild animals too; 8 the birds and the fish and the creatures in the seas.
9 O LORD, our Lord, your greatness is seen in all the world!
Glory to the Father, by the Son, in the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen. Or: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen.
We bless you, Master of the heavens, for the wonderful order that enfolds this world; grant that your whole creation may find fulfilment in the Son of Man, Jesus Christ, our Saviour. Amen.

7 You will open eyes that can’t see. You will set prisoners free. Those who sit in darkness will come out of their cells. (Isaiah 42. 7; NIr. V)
Arise, shine, for your light has come, All the glory of the Lord is rising upon you. God’s salvation has been openly shown to all people, All Declare his glory among the nations. Glory to the Father, by the Son, in the Holy Spirit: All Arise, shine, for your light has come, the glory of the Lord is rising upon you.
PRAYERS FOR THE WORLD -For the people met during the day and their needs -For the Church and her mission
For those who don’t believe in God or fight the Gospel and the Church.
(We offer ourselves to the Lord)
All God of glory, you nourish us with your Word who is the bread of life: fill us with your Holy Spirit that through us the light of your glory may shine in all the world; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
THE LORD’S PRAYER Believing in the promises of God, let us pray with confidence as our Saviour taught us:
(Modern Version) (Traditional Version) Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your name; Your kingdom come; Your will be done; on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen. Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
SONG ‘Take my life’
SENDING OUT May Christ, who sends us to the nations, give us the power of his Spirit: All Amen.
Let us bless the Lord. All Thanks be to God.
