The Call to Adventure • The Call invites the hero into the adventure •

The Call to Adventure • The Call invites the hero into the adventure • It offers an opportunity to face the unknown and gain something of physical or spiritual value • Hero may choose willingly to undertake quest or be forced to take the journey • Often, there is a guide or a helper throughout the journey

The Threshold • The threshold is the “jumping off point” for the adventure –

The Threshold • The threshold is the “jumping off point” for the adventure – where it officially begins • Once past the threshold, the hero enters the unknown, a world filled with challenges and dangers that he must confront. • The hero begins to understand that even though he has a helper, the quest must be achieved on his own
