Learning Objectives § After completing this section, the participant will be able to: o o o Open the Enter module and identify its key features Enter records into an Epi Info™ 7 form Navigate records Search for records Generate a line list Import data into Epi Info 7 project
Enter Data module § Enter Data is used for entering new data, modifying existing data, or searching for records § Enter Data displays the same form you created in the Form Designer § It controls the data entry process by using the settings and Check Code established in the Form Designer § It allows users to import data from multiple sources; Web, Android device, Epi Info 7 data packager and another Epi Info 7 project.

Field and Page Navigation § As you enter data, the cursor moves from field to field and page to page, automatically saving data as you go o TAB key § The pages of the Form appear in the lefthand window
Moving Through Records § You can navigate records using the arrows in the toolbar § You can navigate to a specific record by typing the record number into the record number box
Field Types § Different fields accept different types of values o Text o Legal Values • E. g. Male/Female o Yes/No o Checkbox o Numeric
Geocoding Addresses § Requires an internet connection § Enter an Address and click “Get Coordinates” § Provides the Latitude and Longitude 1600 Clifton Rd Atlanta, Ga
Quick Map § After Geocoding, the location can be displayed on a built-in quick map o Save the record o Click Map in the Toolbar o Match the Latitude and Longitude fields

Line Lists § Epi Info 7 can automatically generate a Line List § Click Line List in the toolbar and select a type o Interactive o Printable (HTML) o Excel
Printing a Form § You can print and preview your form from Epi Info 7 § Click Print in the toolbar
Importing Data in Enter § Allows merging records between Epi Info 7 projects. § Uses internal unique identifier for merging the data. § Records that do not have matching keys can be appended to the dataset. § Records that do have matching keys can be updated.
Importing Data in Enter § From mobile device o Data collected via Android device. o Requires a synch file created by Epi Info application. § From Web o Data collected via the Epi Info Web Survey feature. o Requires security token, survey, and organization keys. § From form o Data collected in multiple workstations. o Requires. PRJ and. MDB files.
