DLR 5. 3 Relevance of the Education and Research activities of the Center How the Center activities align with and support the sector with which the Center is aligned Academic research should not remain isolated in the university environment, but should be transferred more broadly to sectoral stakeholders who can take advantage of and implement, the research advances This transfer of knowledge – through people, products, and ideas – is an important measure of the relevance of an ACE Impact Center

Design a Milestone around Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Start-ups and/or Commercialization activities DLR 5. 3 provides ACE Impact Centers the flexibility to design and implement interventions that address: the needs of the Center faculty and students are consistent with the sector; and are responsive to the private sector in Africa

A mentor program for start-ups and/or entrepreneurs 10. Number of invention disclosures /patents 11. Number of start-ups launched by Center affiliated faculty and postgraduate students
