By successfully completing a NOCTI assessment, PACT graduates will be able to additional credentials – NOCTI and ACTE (Association for Career and Technical Education) to their PACT certification. “This additional 3 rd party assessment irrefutably demonstrates HBI students’ attainment of technical skills and further reinforces HBI’s commitment to ensuring that America has a skilled and knowledgeable workforce today and for the future. ” Students can achieve certifications in one of four assessments: 1) PACT Core; 2) PACT Core plus Green Building; 3) PACT Core plus Building Construction Tech, and 4) PACT Core plus Building Construction Tech and Green Building. 090512 Copyright © HBI 2012. The new curriculum provides PACT students with the groundwork to perform the wide-range of duties expected of facility maintenance technicians and includes the five technical hands-on training courses required by CAMT: • Electrical Maintenance and Repair • Plumbing Maintenance and Repair • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Maintenance and Repair • Appliance Maintenance and Repair • Interior and Exterior Maintenance and Repair Students that complete all CAMT tasks in the PACT BCT Unit and four online nontechnical courses will receive a provisional CAMT certificate signifying completion of the technical requirements. PACT & CAMT A bonus feature of the new Building Construction Technology program is that graduates of this program, can seek permanent CAMT certification when they successfully complete the following: • Four non-technical courses—Inside the Apartment Business, People, Projects and Profits, The Future of Air Conditioning, and four Franklin. Covey On Demand courses. • All examination requirements within 24 months of declaring candidacy for CAMT. • One year of apartment or rental housing maintenance experience. A CAMT certificate is an ideal next step for those PACT BCT graduates who want to improve their employment prospects, expand their career options, or advance in their chosen field.
