Why We Chose Syntax? • An RFP was floated to 6 vendors. • Based on RFP response and analysis, top 2 vendors were selected for negotiation. • Eventually Syntax was selected for: • Demonstrated ability to (with good customer references) deliver on the upgrade • Cost and effort estimate was reasonable and in line with our expectations • Syntax took a customer centric approach and was willing to work with our Legal department to agree on mutually agreeable contract terms • During the RFP process, Syntax brought their top leaders to the table who were able to make decisions quickly and turnaround our questions quickly • Our Oracle account rep and some of the other RFP bidders eventually conceded that Syntax had a great team

Objectives for the JDE 9. 2 upgrade • Post Consumer Brands integrates acquired companies on a regular basis. To support this growth, PCB wanted to streamline the system architecture, reduce the number of modifications and the number of edge applications. • Before performing the upgrade, Post Consumer Brands elected to engage Syntax to perform a technical and a functional assessment of the existing architecture, develop a strategy and roadmap for the to-be architecture, taking into consideration the following potential options: – – – Upgrade from JDE 9. 0 to JDE 9. 2. Replacement of WMS solution with JDE Advanced Warehousing Replacement of PLM solution with Oracle Agile Replacement of EAM solution with JDE Capital Asset Management Replacement of TMS solution with JDE Advanced Transportation Management Replacement of a custom solution built for Production Scheduling and Quality Management

Objectives of the JDE 9. 2 upgrade • Once the initial assessment was completed, a to-be system architecture defined and a roadmap developed, Post Consumer Brands decided to move forward with a JDE 9. 2 upgrade. • The objective of the upgrade was to: – Get on the latest release to take full advantage of new functionality available in JDE 9. 2 – To review 296 enhancements representing 1, 297 objects to determine which ones could be eliminated. – To establish a baseline on which to deploy additional modules/features (CAM, Quality Management, Production Scheduling) and/or to rollout the solution to acquired companies.

Approach for the JDE 9. 2 Upgrade Applications • During the Define Phase of the project, Syntax consultants reviewed all the new features available in JDE 9. 2 compared to JDE 9. 0. In some cases, some of these new features were demoed to the key Post Consumer Brands stakeholders. • Based on this review, a set of new features were incorporated into the scope of the upgrade project.

Approach for the JDE 9. 2 Upgrade Development retrofit • Syntax used a Pristine environment with the same applications release and ESUs installed as in the Production environment, and then ran a standard UBE to compare the objects between the two environments. • This method is preferred to running an SQL statement to look for objects with a certain prefix (55, 56, 57, 58, etc. ). • Syntax then reviewed all the selected enhancements, any available documentation, and made a recommendation for each of the enhancements. for a proposal of a 30% reduction in the number of custom objects.

Approach for the JDE 9. 2 Upgrade • During the Define Phase of the

Approach for the JDE 9. 2 Upgrade • During the Define Phase of the project, additional steps were taken to further streamline/enhance the list of custom objects: – For interactive applications, if the application was not on a menu, a PCB Analyst determined if the program was being used from Fast Path. If not, it was not retrofitted. – For batch applications, any UBE that was not launched in the past 18 months was assigned to a PCB Analyst to review, and then a disposition was made. – NERs/BSFNs/BSSVs linked to programs that were not retrofitted either. • From this combined analysis, we identified 107 out of 296 custom programs that could be eliminated as part of the upgrade project, or 36%.
