Job Planning • Supervisor highlights the need for staying with plan up front. • Plan “ B” for dealing with the unexpected • Good Planning - Safe Job - adversely affected by rule breakers. Day to day Personal Planning • Get buried in what needs to be done on a daily basis. • Need to think longer term - Diary of events over several days • Plan site visits. • Write extra time in the plan for the unexpected. • Learn about effective delegation 26

T. ? • Emphasise safety by not making compromises in favour of production • Search for solutions that maintain and improve safety and production levels • Site visits to collect comments from crews and let them show you where problem areas are Evaluation and Improvement • How did the job go? • Can we make improvements in safety and production? • Use the proposals for improvement in future planning. 27
