Shade over words which have similar sounds in them/similar beginning letters to see if you can group them into some different categories. If you are unsure of their meaning, use a dictionary to look it up!

Number 28 – Question Time Who/what is Number 28? What is his mission? Where has he come from? Who is he speaking to? Do robots have feelings? Will there be robots around in the future? If we all had a personal robot that belonged to us, would this be a good thing or a bad thing? Does a robot need to eat food, or do they need fuel? What is the difference between fuel and food?
Number 28 – Sentence Challenge Can you write a sentence that uses an apostrophe for omission? E. g. cannot = can’t I have = I’ve he will= he’ll she is= she’s we have= we’ve will not = won’t Can you write a sentence that uses an apostrophe for possession? E. . g. The robot’s suit Number 28’s head
Number 28 – Sick Sentences These sentences are ‘sick’ and need help to get better. Can you help? He was really big. People were scared. His big body walked down the street. Example He was enormous and as tall as a skyscraper. His mighty feet pounded the floor like a herd of elephants and shook the ground beneath them. People were terrified, shocked and quivering. Their brows pumped with beads of sweat and their bodies shook with every move that 28 made.
Number 28 – Story Writing Story starter! Thump…Thump…His footsteps thundered down the road, causing passers-by to stare in amazement, dogs to howl in back yards and alarmed old ladies to peer out of their bedroom windows wearing petrified looks on their faces. His legs were as long as oak trees, his torso was as wide as a house and his fists were as heavy as tractors: this metallic monster meant business. “Number 28 checking in. Over. ” He spoke into the radio set, built in to his helmet. His instructions crackled back through the earpiece. He knew what he had to do… Can you now continue this story in your own way? Who is 28 speaking to on the radio set? Why is he called ‘ 28’? What instructions did he receive? Why was he in this particular town and who had sent him? Was he there to rescue or to destroy? Will this town ever be safe again?
