I can use accurate speech punctuation during an important section of dialogue. Today you are going to write another part of the story in third person, making sure that you use the correct speech punctuation. You are going to write the part of the story where Dad and Dorothy find out about the money. Stop your writing just before Terry rings the doorbell.
As Dad shook the saddlebags, Damian froze with wide eyes as he was envisioning the events about to unfold. Just as he predicted, the money fell on to the table like bricks from a hood. Dorothy gasped, Anthony groaned and Dad stared. What should Damian do? Run away? Explain? Deny any knowledge? "What is this? " questioned Dad as his gazed moved from the pile of money to his sheepish looking son. "Is this yours? " He continued to glare at Damian, who was avoiding his gaze by staring at the table. "Well. . . , " Damian began, before Dorothy could interrupt. "This is fantastic!" she began enthusiastically, "You boys deserve some good luck, and here it is. " Confused, bewildered, astounded, Damian didn't know how to respond.
