Text 1 Text 3 The article is written by a journalist not present at the crash, interviewing the parents of a victim: “Neither could even imagine that their 25 -year-old daughter might have been on board. ” Charles Dickens was a victim of the crash and can give a firsthand account: “I stumbled over a lady lying on her back… with the blood streaming over her face. ” Point 2 & Quote Feelings of those involved? EXEMPLAR PARAGRAPH In Source 1, the main viewpoint described is of the parents of one of the victims of the crash. The article remarks that “neither could even imagine that their 25 -year-old daughter might have been on board. ” Therefore their viewpoint of the crash is, at first, much more detached and less specific. In contrast, the writer of Source 3 is directly involved in the train crash, showed in the graphic detail of his description: “I stumbled over a lady lying on her back… with the blood streaming over her face. ” § Write a Comparative PEE Paragraph to complete the answer. § Directly compare the two sources in each paragraph, and infer if necessary. 10 minutes
