Day 1 – Grammar – Capital Letters • What do you know about capital letters?

Day 2 - Task 2 Answer these three questions in your Home Learning book - use pages and 9 • Looking: What do the pictures tell us about the way the characters feel? • Clue: How might you respond in the same situation? Why? Could you do anything to make yourself feel better? • Thinking: What would you need from other people if you were new to an area or school? • Challenge: • Click on the bug picture on page 9 answer the question in your book. 8
Day 3 - Today we will revisit language
Day 3 - Let’s prepare our arguments! Revisit the text on Bug Club: Double Trouble. Revisit chapters 2 and 3 and think about Shazia’s suggestion First – what does she suggest the boys do? Check page 11 Your Task! Put yourself in Jack’s shoes, think of arguments FOR and AGAINST Shazia’s suggestion. REMEMBER to think of reasons for your answers and use evidence from the text.
Day 3 - Let’s prepare our arguments! For Against
Day 4 – Plan your piece of writing and remember that we are trying to be persuasive! Use conjunctions and reasoning! How will you begin your writing? What is your main argument? Why do you feel this way? How will you end your writing?
Day 5 – Writing a persuasive letter • Today you will use your plan to create a persuasive letter to Jack • You will try to persuade him to go to school to pretend to be Oliver or you will argue against this. • Remember to use persuasive language and give reasons for your argument. • Use the resources on the next slide to help you.
