Day 2 – Writing a balanced argument Read through the text and focus on pages 9 and 10. Why might Jack’s mum be worried about getting a dog? Write a balanced argument about why Jack should or shouldn’t be allowed a dog.

Day 4 – Introducing Descriptive Texts
Example – Look at the features Task Can you use a dictionary or online to find the definition of the unfamiliar words? Write them in your book. Answer the following questions: 1. Why is it important to use interesting adjectives in descriptive writing? 2. Can you think of another style of writing that is similar to a descriptive text?
Day 4 – Task 2 Answer the following questions: BP and Hulks Storms
Day 5 – Write your own Fairy Tale passage • Today you will write your own descriptive text using the features we learned yesterday. Task - Focus on a holiday, trip, day out or person. - Make sure you use adjectives and expanded noun phrases within your writing. - Add similes and metaphors to make your writing super interesting! Challenge – Can you read through your work and improve it by editing it? Ask a grown up to look at it and make suggestions!
