Learning objectives • A learning objective is about what knowledge, understanding or skill a student will gain during the lesson. • To ensure that we are clear about this, objectives should be phrased as: • To know. . . (knowledge) [. . . the PROSERACER persuasive techniques] • To understand. . . (understanding) [. . . how the PROSERACER techniques affect the reader] • To be able to. . . (skill) [. . . use PROSERACER in my writing]

Objectives and Outcomes • Objectives are statements about what you want students to have internalised at the end of the learning process – – To be able to use PROSERACER in my writing Students will have gained the skill of writing with PROSERACER To know the PROSERACER persuasive techniques Students will have learnt definitions and examples of the PROSERACER techniques • Outcomes are what you want students to produce to demonstrate their learning – To write a speech using PROSERACER – To create a poster of the PROSERACER techniques – To work in groups on creating definitions of PROSERACER techiques • All lessons should begin with the sharing of a clearning objective with the students. It is your choice about whether you also want to share the outcomes, but these should be kept separate.
