Poetry – exam format 40 marks There is no choice of question Two part question; answer both parts: There will be a printed copy of one of the poems you have studied an unseen poem. a) Compare the ways in which both poets present [an aspect of love and relationships]. 20 marks You should consider: • ideas and attitudes in each poem • tone and atmosphere in each poem • the effects of the language and structure used. AND b) Explore in detail one other poem from your anthology which presents [another aspect of love and relationships]. For b) there will be no poem printed i. e. you have to learn the poems

Romeo and Juliet – exam format You will have a choice of two questions. One will be extract-based; one will be an essay. Answer ONE only. For either question You will need to explore two ‘moments’ in detail For the extract-based question, one of the ‘moments’ must be the extract, For the essay question, you can choose both ‘moments’.

In this extract, Capulet is concerned about the consequences of his fight with Montague. Paris is eager to have Capulet’s approval for Juliet to marry him.
