ROOT: Tut/Tui n. Tut/tui means “to look at. ” It can also mean “To guide, guard, or teach. ”
Intuition n Definition: (1) The power of knowing something immediately without mental effort; quick insight. (2) Something known in this way. n Sentence: I had an intuition that the party would lead to trouble.
Tuition n Definition: (1) The act of teaching; instruction. (2) The cost of or payment for instruction. n Sentence: At times, paying college tuition can be quite stressful.
Tutelage n Definition: Instruction or guidance of an individual, guardianship. n Sentence: Under the English teacher’s tutelage, the students learned how to write complete sentences.
Tutorial n Definition: (1) A class for one student or small group of students. (2) An instructional program that gives information about a specific subject. n Sentence: I learned how to make powerpoints through a tutorial a professor made for me.

Ectopic n Definition: Occurring or originating in an abnormal place. This is a medical term usually meant to explain something inside of the body out of place. n Sentence: The man went in to surgery to fix his ectopic kidney.
Topical n Definition: (1) Designed for local application to or treatment of a bodily part. (2) Referring to the topics of the day. n Sentence: Politics seem to be the topical subject these days.
Topiary n Definition: Relating to the art of shaping trees or shrubs into odd or ornamental shapes. n Sentence: Around the mansion was a topiary garden, filled with plants that looked like animals.
Topography n Definition: (1) The art of showing the natural and man-made features of a region on a map or chart. (2) The features of a surface, including both natural and man-made features. n Sentence: Before traveling to a foreign land, it is a good idea to become familiar with its topography.
ROOT: Centr/Center n. Centr/Center means “sharp point or exact middle of a circle. ”
Eccentric n Definition: (1) Not following an established or usual style or conduct. (2) Straying from a circular path; off-center. n Sentence: The man that tap-danced down the street was considered eccentric by his neighbors.
Epicenter n Definition: (1) The location on earth’s surface directly above the focus of an earthquake. (2) The center or focus of activity. n Sentence: The city was completely destroyed because it was located at the epicenter of the earthquake.
Egocentric n Definition: Overly concerned with oneself; self-centered n Sentence: The movie star was acting egocentric by only talking about his own work.
Ethnocentric n Definition: Marked by or based on the attitude that one’s own group is superior to others. n Sentence: Most countries find America to be a very ethnocentric society.
